SHRA–ERÄMAA
Kuinka voisimme löytää jonkun yhteisen maaperän, jonkun muun kuin tämän turhauman, vihan ja voimattomuuden?
//
How to find a common ground, some other than this frustration, anger and powerlessness?
The final performance of Siikajoki–Helsinki–Al'Arroub carries the name SHRA-ERÄMAA. The performance premiered at Nomads Festival in Helsinki on 19.9.2017 after which it toured in Siikajoki (Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland) and in Al'Arroub Refugee Camp (West Bank of Palestine).
SHRA-ERÄMAA embodies both the differences of cultures and communities but also the similarities of people. The topic is handled through contemporary theatre and universal bodily expression that reaches viewers without linguistic barriers. The performance travels through three different realities, Siikajoki, Helsinki and Al'Arroub, through which it talks about strangeness, encountering and receiving the Other. It struggles with the question of always being stuck in the same frustration, occupation and the same unchangeable violence.
